I was approached in 2021 by a former colleague who was seeking some support with his website. This client set up Boards360, a business led by like-minded board riders who offer tried and tested, fairly priced products for surfers or paddleboarders of any level or ability, as well as a wealth of accessories and advice.
The site was in a good place but, as the company progressed, there was a growing requirement for more trade reactive content for Boards360 to refresh and update the website homepage and blog pages across desktop and mobile devices. They also wanted to start implementing more content across their social media channels and explore other exposure avenues like smart shopping ads to really help push the brand identity.
I’ve already worked with the team at Boards360 on a multitude of freelance work to support their digital channels and enhance the company’s online presence and the creative we have put live has had a significantly positive impact on the engagement metrics they’re seeing across channels, which is brilliant! Check out some of the gnarly surf stuff we’ve worked on together below…
End of Season Sale Banners
The brief here was to help build brand recognition of Boards360 and support the sale so customers understand what the campaign is about, ultimately driving click through and conversion metrics across the site and social channels.
Green Friday
Dropping the consumerism typically associated with Black Friday, Boards360 went for a different angle and wanted some artwork to inspire people to find out more about Green Friday, learn how to shop more environmentally consciously and live a healthier lifestyle. We worked together to create the blog post and subsequent social assets.
Dakine Winter Wetsuit Banner
I created site and social content to support the launch of the Dakine Winter Wetsuit range. Using their pre-existing designs and adding in some changes of our own, allowed us to honour Dakine’s designs and present the brand as they intended, whilst making it stand out from the other carousel banners on the homepage. I mocked up some initial concepts first, exploring different routes/arrangements to take before agreeing with the client on the final outputs.
Christmas Gift Collections
As part of the Boards360 Christmas Gift Collection, the team required some web banners to use in various places across the site, as well as subsequent banners to use for social media and email to promote traffic to the campaign. I created initial concepts which led to a series of gift headline artwork, as well as x6 different web category banners to use on the gift category page, ensuring all the individual designs retained an element of consistency throughout the campaign across multiple touchpoints.
Smart Shopping Ads
Boards360 enlisted the support of Kinase to help deliver higher performing Google Ads. They identified that their earlier image assets being used for Smart Shopping Ads needed cleaning up, and so we sat down together and worked up some clean and simplified options playing on the product imagery, subtle use of the brand colours and most importantly white space, to devise clean ads that conveyed a more intriguing message, enticing viewers to click through.
Dakine Beanies Digital Assets
Boards360 started stocking Dakine Beanies and needed a clear visual, both to guide customers to the website and give prominence to the range on the homepage. The aim was to showcase a few products in the asset to give the customer an idea of the range, encouraging click through to the main product category. I worked on several design routes, presenting options which went through to create the final banners.
