I previously worked in Bristol, at Activation Digital, who specialise in responsive web design and promotions for fast-moving consumer goods brands.
Companies I was fortunate enough to work on creative for here, included Young’s Seafood, Nestlé, Yankee Candle, Nescafé, KP Snacks, Volvic, Ocean Spray, New Covent Garden Soup co, Michelin and more.
I joined the team after university and learnt valuable design and marketing skills to help towards delivering digital campaigns, as well as working on designs for new business pitches, web wireframe mockups and thumbnails/scamps for Activation’s prestigious clients. I learnt a lot about the world of responsive website design, CSS and considerations when designing for web during my time here, as well as being exposed to software like MODX, WordPress, Umbraco and ShortStack. I worked here for a year until 2015, assisting on many client projects which gave me a first-hand understanding of life in an agency culture.

Nestlé Cereals B2B Website
This website was designed for convenience store owners to order products, book Nestlé Cereal relays of their stores and increase sales through forming a working relationship with Nestlé. The visual prompts came from cereal partners green box branding.
Youngs Seafood Responsive Website
Young’s Seafood appointed Activation to handle its digital activity. Activation were responsible for all of Young’s digital and social communications, starting with a new campaign to amplify the brand’s TV adverts, followed by social campaigns and a new website design. I gained invaluable experience here from the team in seeing how a client relationship transitioned right through from the pitch to a fully functional website and omnichannel rebrand.
Ocean Spray #JustRefresh
In 2015, Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice were sponsoring ‘The Color Run’ for their summer activity, which produced some very nice user generated content. I was able to use some of this UGC to update and refresh the UK website homepage look and feel.
Nestlé Nescafé Alegria
Nescafé Alegria sell commercial coffee vending machines for bulk cups to various businesses and approached Activation for a website which reflected the commercial machines which they were offering. I was involved from the brief, working with the account manager at Activation and digesting the clients requirements, to create the website design concepts.
New Covent Garden Soup Co.
I was involved in designing the New Covent Garden Soup Company’s sales promotion to win a Mini Cooper. I used the visual assets in the existing consumer website to create the data capture form for consumers to enter their on-pack codes.
Yankee Candle Christmas Site
A winning moment website for Yankee Candle in conjunction with Clintons, to win one of five Christmas breaks through an on-product promotion, encouraging consumers to enter using code validation.
